Vincent was born in 1974 in the Loire wine country, and trained in some of the best restaurants in Paris. In 1996 he joined the staff of the newly-opened Hotel du Vin in Winchester and achieved a number of awards, including Master Sommelier and UK Sommelier of the Year. Since 2000, he has been Managing Director of his own consultancy www.vincentgasnier.co.uk.

Vincent is Wine Buyer/Sommelier to many restaurants including Soho House Group, The NED, and also works with private clients in managing their cellars. He hosts private events and appears on various TV shows.

His books include Drinks (Dorling Kindersley 2005), How to Choose Wine (Dorling Kindersley 2006) and Top Ten Guides to wine.
